Herb Concotions
Herbs de Provence are an herb blend that is aromatic and classically French. It tends heavy toward a thyme flavoring and depending on the blend might have fennel, tarragon or garlic. The must have is lavender. It gives the blend both color and flavor. My herb blend is from GMF grown and dried herbs and contains Thyme, Savory, Rosemary, Tarragon, Fennel, basil, Chervil, Marjoram, and Lavender.
Use HDP on just about any kind of meat or poultry. Especially as a rub for lamb, chicken or steak. Also great on toasted bread, with or without melted cheese.
Also great in stews and any favorite Mediterranean dish.![]()
Burke's Better Butter is an herb mixture of parsley, chervil, chives, basil, rosemary, dill, thyme and salt. Melt butter until soft and add the herb mixture. Put it on pasta, spatzle (sorry Frau, no umlaut), any type of meat and YUM YUM! Also goes well mixing with oil and vinegar for salad dressing. Dedicated to my High School German teacher, a friend and a major part of the inspiration behind GMF!
